3/155 Florence Street, Wynnum

Late in the afternoon on Friday 21 October 2022, a bandit in a stolen car ram-raided Red Moon Jewellery at 3/155 Florence Street Wynnum, smashing the entire shopfront and ransacking the business.

As Property Managers of the retail tenancy, the team at Ray White Commercial Bayside was notified shortly after the incident and promptly collaborated with the tenant’s insurance contractor to quickly secure the premises.  When contacted by the Queensland Police Service later that evening, we were able to immediately access the building’s security camera and provide the Police Officers with footage of the attack to assist with their investigations.

Nathan Moore, Director of Ray White Commercial Bayside, attended the site on Saturday morning with the landlord to assess the damage and provide comfort and assurance to the distressed tenant.  Once we understood the extent of the works required, we quickly initiated the repair process, and guided the tenant through what their insurance provider would expect to satisfy the claim.

After working effectively with the landlord, the landlord’s tradespeople and the insurer, we  successfully had a new shopfront reinstalled and extensive internal repairs completed within only 2 weeks of the incident.

To add further protection to the site, in consultation with the landlord we had security bollards installed to ensure that a repeat occurrence is nearly impossible.

Our extensive Property Management experience and comprehensive crisis management expertise meant that we were able to quickly and efficiently liaise with insurance companies to support payouts, and engage a variety of contractors to get the premises ready for trade within a fortnight.

The tenant was absolutely thrilled to be open again so soon, and we were pleased to chalk up another good win.
